Sophie Power: Ultras, running postpartum & pursuing your goals alongside being a mother
Show Notes

In this BONUS episode we speak to ultra runner, mother of three and Women in Sport board member Sophie Power.

Sophie's life changed when a photograph of her breastfeeding her three-month-old son whilst running the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) went viral. Without being able to defer her place despite being pregnant, Sophie decided to attempt the 106-mile race three months postpartum.

Sophie explains the story behind the photograph, why it made such an impression on her and other people around the world and how she has been inspired to empower other women (especially mothers) to pursue their goals no matter what they want to achieve.

In the interview we also talk about pelvic health, why it's important to keep pregnant women active, how to get more girls involved in sport and how Sophie (the second slowest at school) became an accomplished ultra runner.
